Knucklebone - Stainless Steel Skelebone Edition
The Skelebone is the latest evolution of our classic Knucklebone design. Years ago, Aroundsquare experimented with a series of limited edition kbones which were hollowed out and 3D printed in small quantities. The Skelebone takes advantage of modern advances in this technology, and new design capabilities, to produce something much more refined, and entirely fresh.
The Skelebone design features two opposing spiral helixes which trace the contours of the Knucklebone to create a lattice-structured exoskeleton. The exterior surface is contoured, and the spiral lines themselves rounded, to provide a comfortable surface for manipulating the kbone. Note that this manufacturing process involves some hand grinding and finishing, and there will be some unevenness and abrasion marks on the outer surface (see photos), attesting to the origins, and making each piece unique. The sandblasting largely smooths these out, but do not expect the pristine finish of a precision-machined or polished finish, as each piece is somewhat unique in its final character. This is also evidenced in the weights of the final production units, which range from around 22g to around 24g. This is extraordinarily light by metal kbone standards--the original stainless steel models weigh around ~79g each, and the Skelebones play a treat. They're light and nimble, and between the texture on the finish and the light weight, these things are a joy to handle. The weight distribution handles tricks like sonics well, while the grabby ends make all the end-manipulation tricks almost effortless. The stainless steel Skelebones feature a sandblasted surface which gives a nice textured feel, and will break in beautifully with age.

Same here, I have OG Delrin (the best to start with), OG Slim Titanium, Slimini SS and Aluminium, Clear Acrylic, modular stuff (long and slim grips) and I was amazed by all the different feelings of all these sizes and mate rials... And this morning I received the boss: perfect weight, incredible touch, stunning look, simply my new everyday carry! Catch it whenever available! It's a must.
I have ebony, polished titanium, aluminum, delrin, silicone and titanium honey dripper knucklebones - so I have tried out quite a few options! And I can confidently say that the steel skelebone is the best of them all. I love this thing and always have it with me. It looks awesome and feels great. And is marvelous to play with. As another reviewer said, it feels like it is playing itself. These are the things I particularly love about it:
- Perfect weight. Nice and light for fast play and for playing hours a day without fatigue. But heavy enough to do all momentum tricks.
- Smooth, sandblasted finish. To allow it to flow through the fingers, even if hands are slightly sweaty in warmer weather. It becomes even smoother with play which is satisfying.
- Grippy ends make end knob style a breeze and very consistent.
Did I mention it looks awesome? Very tough too, being made of steel.

Love my Skelebone so much! A perfect weight for me, the grip feels just right and it looks awesome. It’s barely been out of my hands since it arrived!
Love this one.. It’s like your fingers are just doing what the Skelebone wants them to. It’s certainly not overly course, not at all, but a super smoothed out version would be great too. Photo attached is contrasted with white/rose gold.
This Skelebone is very nice. Everything from Aroundsquare has been top quality and this is noe exception!
