Remeshok Chetki- Titanium Edition
Standard
The Standard Remeshok chetki are Aroundsquare's modern take on the jointed plate style chetki which are commonly found in Russia. The name Remeshok comes from the Russian word for "strap", reflecting the clean lines of the set. Each set consists of 18 small rectangular beads, plus two tapered end beads, strung together on 300 lb kevlar cord. The resulting set has a simple, minimalist look, but represents a great deal of refinement and streamlining in the development process.

General Information on Chetki
Chetki, or more correctly, perekidnye chetki (перекидные четки), are a type of flipping beads that developed in Russia. Also known as “Russian prison beads”, the origins of chetki trace back to a linear style rosary. As the story goes, looped rosaries were not allowed in Russian prisons, but the shorter linear style were permitted. With idle time to pass, the flipping of chetki became common, and secular models designed with flipping in mind became popular, often sporting engraved "tattoos" matching those of their owners, or other images of significance. Over time, the manipulation of perekidnye (flipping) chetki (перекидные четки) has developed into an art in its own right, and the secular embodiments of the beads designed purely for flipping have begun to proliferate. Modern perekidnye chetki are specifically designed for manipulation, much like a balisong or a set of begleri, and with practice, a wide variety of tricks and combinations can be performed.

So first off anyone who had to do a double take when seeing the price… you’re not crazy lol. (Expensive) However, they’re quite special. A sleek look and texture that is just so pleasing to the eye and touch. Something about the sandblasted finish is mesmerizing(imo). Amazing for raindrops/zipper sound, bead counting, and just fidgeting, and the weight hits the sweetest of spots. Pairing them with red cord even better. Tricks are a bit tricky (pun intended) but when you land a roll or two across your fingers the level of satisfaction is unmatched. To me these chetki are worth it, However, keep an eye out for those tariffs, was up to $80 bucks at one point which is rough. Obviously it’s not AO2 fault but that is a reality to consider as a conscious consumer. Also the bore holes are not cleaned so black residue will show up on the beads and string which I wasn’t a fan of but easy to clean when restringing. I wish the accent beads were back in stock with maybe more options for specifically the titanium sets. I feel like the options are mostly for the acrylic/delrin versions. All in all this Chetki is top tier. 10/10 clacking, 10/10 raindrops/zipper,10/10 worry stones, 10/10 bead counting,10/10 tricks. beautifully designed set. Being skeptical at first vs owning a set, I truly love these chetki so much I almost can’t believe I also bought the blue sandblasted set which are way more beautiful than the pictures. If you’re already interested you will NOT be disappointed but if you’re on the fence the more affordable options are best. However, I Support aroundsquare cause they’re a great company that provide such amazing products for people who want to fidget with something that feels substantial. 10/10 set of beads.
It's truly impossible to put into words how perfectly the skeletonized titanium Chetki fits in your hand and how perfectly balanced it is. As a metalhead myself, I can confirm how expertly these guys work.
But even more amazing is the support from Aroundsquare, by far the best support I've ever communicated with. Guys, I love you, keep it up and stay exactly as you are.
I am enjoying this chetki. If it's not in my hand, it's in my pocket begging to be in my hand. The weight of it feels nice, but not so much that it tires out my hand.
I love the weight, it is beautiful, and slings great. Super expensive, but I think it's worth it.
Recommend both. when swapping to the skeletonized version, it does require a little more finesse and relaxation. but isn’t that the point of mindfulness and being present? I did add 2 links on each end when adding the beavertail (titanium polished). I am a fan of sandblasted finiish. the skelotonized (sandblasted) is a bit easier to grip than the solid version. However, I found a minor tweak of ever so slightly loosening the spacing also works. another tweak I would recommend. I plan on getting the polished versions one day soon. play opens up when the butterfly technique and circular moves enter. (Watched the AO2 tutorials) a lot of basic begleri moves do translate over as well.
