Remeshok Chetki - Titanium Beavertail Edition

The titanium Beavertail edition of our Remeshok chetki features a full polished grade 5 titanium version of this player friendly design. As experieced players would expect, the titanium beavertails make the sets play heavier and slower compared to the standard Remeshok end plates, so they force you to slow down a little. But with that extra weight comes a lot of extra feedback and control, which are sometimes lacking in the fast-paced flipping of the lighter materials.

General Information on the Beavertail Mods

Our new Beavertail Edition of the popular Remeshoks feature an elongated end bead, tapered to a stout thickness at the outer end, and rounded for a comfortable experience. The Beavertails are thus named not because they particularly look like beavertails.. but rather, based on the naming convention for longer, thinner canoe paddles, because they're super slappy (as you'll soon find out), and also, obviously, because Canada, eh. They have a sleek appearance, but it's not just aesthetics. These extended ends have a somewhat surprising effect of locking the ends into place between the fingers. They are narrow enough to slip through the fingers with ease, but when there is tension at an angle, the beads act like a lever. This effectively prevents them from slipping through the fingers when you don’t want them too, and also creates a springiness as the tension is absorbed and released during play.

Since the Beavertails are longer than any end beads we’ve launched to date, we’ve found it wise to shorten up the length of the joining section between the ends. For the new Beavertail mods, we’ve trimmed it down to 16+2. The overall length in each case is similar.

Details on the titanium edition

  • Weight: ~66g
  • Components: 16x middle stripe beads + 2x end plates

    Note:

Due to large flat surfaces on the Beavertail chetki, the pieces show some small scratches and may appear slightly scuffed. Any pieces with larger scratches have been sorted out and removed from inventory, but all pieces have minor scratches. These minor blemishes in no way affect the performance of the beads and they are still beautiful, but we want to ensure realistic expectations for the level of perfection in the polishing.

Accent packs for those wanting just the Beavertail end beads are available in our accent packs product listing.

    Perfection

I bought the Delrin Beavertail set when they were released and as soon as full Ti sets were teased I knew these were a must have. I was not disappointed. The weight of these feels fantastic and kind of slows down tricks when practicing, which has been quite helpful for me. The Beavertail ends far out-perform the standard ends as the size and shape give more distinguishable momentum and 'lock in' seamlessly between your fingers. I think the only set that would be better than this would be a tumbled or blasted version. The polished show wear very quickly. For me however, I was prepared for that and just shows how well loved they are (photo shows brand new vs used).

The all-Ti Beavertail is a weighty mass of beautiful joy. This is my first all-metal chetki and it is MUCH heavier feeling than the Delrin or aluminum models. It was surprising at first, but over time it has grown on me to the point where sometimes I feel like slinging the heavier set, and sometimes I still want to sling the lighter sets. It has expanded my play. It is also a workout machine -- I can feel my hands getting stronger as I play. Like the heavy knucklebones, it tires you out at first until you build the stamina. The Beavertail shape is incredible. It gives an excellent balance of control and leverage without being too bulky or making it difficult to slip between fingers. And, of course, the look of the polished Ti is just incredible: beautiful even as it scuffs up with play. Very happy, would buy again!
