Remeshok Chetki - Acrylic/Stainless Steel Editions
The Remeshok chetki are Aroundsquare's modern take on the jointed plate style chetki which are commonly found in Russia. The name Remeshok comes from the Russian word for "strap", reflecting the clean lines of the set. Each set consists of 18 small rectangular beads, plus two tapered end beads, strung together our ultra strong 1mm high density kevlar cord. The resulting set has a simple, minimalist look, but represents a great deal of refinement and streamlining in the development process.
The acrylic version of the Remeshok chetki comes equipped with polished stainless steel stripes, giving the sets a terrific playable weight distribution and a fresh look. These sets weigh in at around 19.9g all in, but feel slightly heavier due to the weight distribution with the SS stripes.

General Information on Chetki
Chetki, or more correctly, perekidnye chetki (перекидные четки), are a type of flipping beads that developed in Russia. Also known as “Russian prison beads”, the origins of chetki trace back to a linear style rosary. As the story goes, looped rosaries were not allowed in Russian prisons, but the shorter linear style were permitted. With idle time to pass, the flipping of chetki became common, and secular models designed with flipping in mind became popular, often sporting engraved "tattoos" matching those of their owners, or other images of significance. Over time, the manipulation of perekidnye (flipping) chetki (перекидные четки) has developed into an art in its own right, and the secular embodiments of the beads designed purely for flipping have begun to proliferate. Modern perekidnye chetki are specifically designed for manipulation, much like a balisong or a set of begleri, and with practice, a wide variety of tricks and combinations can be performed.

I got this in a luck sack, but it looked flawless nonetheless. Originally I did not like it for slinging and I thought it was due to the ends not being beavertails. After a few weeks I decided to give it a real shot. Changed the 1mm kevlar to 1.2mm, added 3 beads for personal length preference, reduced slack from 11-12mm to 4-7mm, and only had small end knot (focusing on slinging performance and ignoring "wearability") instead of the 11mm long end knot/cord . Now it plays extremely well!
Im not sure if it deserves 4 stars or 5 - the changes I made might only be my own preference. However, it seemed in the community that the consesus is 1.2mm is superior to 1mm kevlar (strongly agree) and that little slack is generally better than lots of slack (also agree). But both are only related to the slinging performance and I don't know what people prefer for wearing it.
Myself I only care about slinging, not wearing it. For a slinging chetki, consider it a 4 star rating. The default setup is obviously meant for wearing aswell, but I thought it sacrificed too much slinging performance. Luckily they include spare cord so you can change it, or just trim and re-tie the original 1mm cord.
For people who care about wearing the chetki equally as much as slinging it - consider this a 5 star. The product itself is excellent and the acrylic swirls are awesome. It was much easier to wear with long end cord, but slinging with that setup was not smooth.
