The Jue Zhi Banzhi in Purple Heart and Zebrano brings the stat-maxed philosophy of the Jue Zhi design into the beautiful, grainy world of natural wood. These rings are wider and thicker than our original banzhis, with supremely rounded edges for a comfortable fit, and all the visual and tactile presence that the Jue Zhi profile is known for.

These wooden Juezhis are light on the fingers, but they nonetheless make their presence felt due to their size. The generous dimensions of these banzhis are particularly well suited to showcasing natural wood. The broad walls give full expression to grain and coloration, while the rounded edges bring the end grain into view, adding a subtle colour variation and visual depth that flat-edged designs simply don't offer.

Purple Heart lives up to its name, with a deep purple tone that makes it one of the more visually striking materials in the natural world. Zebrano offers a subtly striated golden brown with darker linear grain running through it, giving each piece a distinctive character. Both are dense, hard-wearing woods, well suited to the kind of extended wear and handling that mindfulness practice and solid daily wearing invites.

While the banzhis can be manipulated, they are presented primarily as mindfulness tools–something to hold and feel in the hand, grounding attention and inviting a return to the present moment. The name Jue Zhi combines jué (awakening/awareness) with zhǐ (ring), derived from juéwù, meaning consciousness.

As natural materials, Purple Heart and Zebrano benefit from occasional care. Avoid prolonged exposure to water or washing, and periodically apply a small amount of wood conditioning oil to maintain their finish and resilience over time.
