Deadeye - Doubloon Polymer Editions

Aroundsquare’s Deadeyes are part skill toy, part worry stone, part mind control device. Roll them between your fingers, or press use your thumb into the smooth contour and breath deep to dissolve the stresses of daily life.

The Doubloons are the latest evolution in our Deadeye lineup, inspired by the chunky contours of Donut Hollows but refined with a concave centre, reminiscent of the original Deadeyes. The result is a bold, satisfying shape that feels terrific in the hand and works beautifully as both a skill toy and a deep-dish worry coin.

Black Ultem

Unlike any deadeyes we’ve offered before, the black ultem doubloons are best described as a void. The polished black surface truly distorts its form unless held in direct light. They’re extremely similar in texture to the amber ultem and clear acrylic with the same light weight mindless manipulation potential. These are sleek and grippy in feel, helping them stay locked where you want them in your fingers despite their light weight.

Amber Ultem

The dark Amber Ultem doubloon is another beautiful addition to our Ultem family of products. The material is relatively transparent, with a dark amber tint, and the subtle curves on these deadeyes allows for some mesmerizing light refraction and warped fisheye visuals. Much like our other polymer and wood editions, the light weight of these makes them fun and casual to manipulate, though isolation style moves are somewhat more challenging.

Clear Acrylic

Our Clear Acrylic brings the best features of the Doubloon design, with the addition of a striking new look. The clarity of the acrylic Doubloons makes them fully transparent, and the curves bend the light dramatically for interesting optical effects. For those missing our Delrin deadeyes of old, this is your first opportunity to get back that light form factor in a reimagined and modernized piece. Note that the acrylic material is soft enough that it is prone to scratching and scuffing, which will obviously affect the clarity of the piece, but they continue to look and feel great as they age, much like our longtime favourite acrylic “Ice” Knucklebones.
