Description

Demi Plank

The Demi Plank is a slimmed down version of our popular Nowhere Plank. The Demis are half-sized compared to the originals, sliced and rounded to an ergonomic wafer that bears a striking resemblance to a stick of gum still wrapped in its foil. While we tenaciously repeat that the plank is not intended as a skill toy, the Demi Planks are slightly better suited to idle manipulations and simple repeaters compared to the originals. Being half the weight of the originals, the Demis lend themselves to these kinds of manipulations, fending off gravity just a little better, being a bit slimmer for rolling between the fingers, and especially, sporting a lower centre of gravity due to their proportions. All this comes together to make the Demi Planks just a little more dextrous, as well as being exceedingly pocket friendly.

Damascus Steel Edition:

The damascus steel edition of our popular Demi Plank series is the heaviest to date, and the first of our exotic materials. The damascus is beautifully etched, bringing out not only the topographic-style visual contours, but also a rich, organic-feeling texture, that facilitates grip during manipulations. The lovely grain of the damascus material makes this edition special in the range, and very satisfying just as a worry stone or totem in the pocket.. but of course it offers more. Although the we lean away from framing the planks as skill toys, the combination of additional weight and grainy texture makes the damascus Demi a joy to manipulate.

Delrin Edition:

The delrin version of the Demi Plank is lightweight, durable, and feels great in the hand. If you don't already love delrin, these planks will kindle a spark in your heart. The material is smooth and warm to the touch. The finish is only slightly polished, and has a soft grip to it that is noticeably different from acrylic, ultem, or any of the metals materials.

The delrin Demis are extremely lightweight, which makes them an easy carry, and doesn't interfere with the casual, stop-and-go manipulations to which the planks are best suited. Because they are so light, it is difficult to flow smoothly through tricks with them, but that is not the purpose of the planks to begin with, and those seeking a flow experience are better off with a knucklebone, a deadeye, or a set of begleri.

Titanium Edition:

As with our other products, the blasted titanium finish tends to feel much smoother and less grippy in the hands compared to the polished versions. So, depending on your preference, you can choose the option that most interests you.

      My go-to fidget

I was obsessed with my AS begleri for the past couple of years until I discovered their delrin demi plank. I love spinning it between my thumb and index finger. I keep it in my bra for safe keeping since I'm terrified of losing it since it's sold out now. I tried the nowhere plank but it was a little too thick for my tiny hands. I also tried the sandblasted titanium demi plank but it's a little too heavy and smooth for longterm play. Can't wait for the 6-pack delrin to come back into stock!

I picked up the Delrin Demi Plank after being pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the full-size Delrin Nowhere Plank. I was curious how a slimmer, more pocketable version would feel—and I’m happy to say it delivers.

The AO2 description comparing it to a stick of gum is spot on. Its slim profile makes it incredibly easy to carry, and it feels great as a lightweight, worry stone-style item. It’s a different take on the Plank design, and I enjoy the added versatility.

That said, if you’re more interested in dense, tactile feedback, you might prefer a metallic version or the full-size Delrin Plank. But for something ultra-light and manipulatable on the go, the Demi Plank is a perfect little companion.

      Surprisingly significant

One thing I like about the planks is their significant weight when holding it in my hand. I was apprehensive about getting a Demi plank because of its smaller and lighter nature. I’m happy to report that the Damascus steel demi plank is perfectly balanced with enough weight to make its presence known. The unique patterns on it make each piece a true original.

      Lives in my pocket . . .

Warm and welcoming, I always have a delrin demi plank with me. Glad I grabbed a six-pack, because both wife and daughter immediately claimed their own!

Yes, what you see is what you get; at the risk over oversimplifying, this is a plastic rectangle approximately the size of a stick of gum.

That said, I'm entirely chuffed just simply twirling this lil doublemint lookin' polygon around in my fingers.

Although the shape is hardly ergonomic, the demi plank can nonetheless be manipulated using many standard techniques (you can thumb roll 'em, even!). Given the greater degree of challenge, the slight alterations and variations you'll reckon with will ultimately aid in honing your skills. Please, manipulate responsibly!
