Deadeye Wearables - Larges Titanium Editions

The Deadeye wearables are a pendant version of the Deadeye contact coins. These feature a small hole in the centre, allowing them to be strung up and worn around the neck, from the belt loop, attached to a keyring etc. They feature the same shape and size as the original Deadeye coins, and play just as well. The wearables ship with an ample cut of black waxed braided cotton cord—our recommended product for stringing them up. They are two finishes: mirror polished and sandblasted

  • Precision machined from grade 5 titanium (Ti 6Al-4V)
  • Specs: 37mm diameter/ 22g
  • Two finishes available:
    • Blasted: Aggressively sandblasted for a rough, sparkling finish.. These start out very rough, but soften over time with use.
    • Mirror polished: Beautifully polished. These will pick up abrasions and scratches over time but remain beautiful and very playable. Counter-intuitively, these have the most grip due to the glossy surface.

*NOTE: On the sand blasted models, there are apparent machining lines. These are visible upon inspection, but only slightly perceptible to the touch (if at all). These ridges do not detract from the play, but they will be noticeable upon inspection. If you are looking for something that is completely free of blemishes, then the mirror polished pieces have you covered.

General Info on the Deadeye Contact Coins

Aroundsquare’s Deadeyes are our first entry into the world of currency manipulation, and we’ve put a lot of time and effort into the refinement of this design, and the development of possibilities surrounding it. We’ve started calling these “contact coins” because they lend themselves to a style of manipulation that resembles contact juggling. On the surface, the Deadeyes look like just a refined worry stone made from metal, and they certainly serve well for that. They are precisely crafted and beautifully finished, with an ergonomic indent on either side that is perfect for thumbs of any size.

But as you’d expect from AO2, there’s more to it than that. The concave shape and resulting ridge around the perimeter make the Deadeyes perfect for contact-style manipulation. With practice, they coins can be made to roll fluidly between the fingers, or back and forth over the thumbs, and isolations can be performed where the coins appear to be floating around the fingertips.

The Deadeyes are available in two sizes, and assorted metals. The large size is 37mm in diameters, and the small one is 30mm in diameter. They both play well and feel great in the hand, but the large feels much more substantial and is more stable when performing contact-style manipulation, while the small is much closer to the half-dollar size preferred by many magicians. Titanium models are available in mirror polished or sandblasted.

All Deadeyes are packaged in a box, and ship with Aroundsquare stickers.

things to note

extremely high quality(as usual from AO2)

I have noticed no visible(def not tactile) machining lines as warned about in the description

perfect size to knuckle roll on average male hands

blasted titanium is “difficult” to scratch(barely noticeable visual blemish from dropping on concrete but no noticeable tactile damage)

you can slightly notice the difference in weight to the “non wearable” versions of the same coin(slightly lighter from the missing center)

you can remove it from the string without taking it off your neck (I spent two days pulling the long side through to get it off *facepalm)

my second one of these, will certainly not be my last
