MKUltras - 6mm Beads Titanium Editions
MKUltras - 6mm Beads Titanium Editions
Sizing down to create more streamlined 8mm and Nano sets, we realized we were hitting a limit with the thickness of the K2 Kevlar cord and the corresponding 3.5mm bore size. In our quest to create an ultra slim, low profile set, we've jumped down to our custom, super durable 1mm Kevlar cord (the same we use on our Remeshok chetki), which has enabled us to size down to custom machined 6mm titanium beds, shrinking the bore to a perfect fit that is comfortable for bead counting and smooth for raindrops.
6mm Edition
The MKUltras 6mm Edition consists of 33x 6mm beads, with a 6mm bead to close/ adjust the loop. The MKUltras 6mm Long Form consists of 59x 6mm beads, with a 6mm bead to close/ adjust the loop. The beads of the 6mm Edition feel substantially smaller on the wrist, in the pocket, and in the hand than any other set of Ultras, including the Nano Edition. The smaller sized beads are lighter, making them easier to flip in the manner of begleri. Because of the small size, this model is not optimal for bead counting, as the small beads are someone harder to cycle through one by one. NOTE: The pricing on the Ultras is a function of the per bead production cost x the number of beads. With sets requiring many small beads, the production savings in raw material is negligible, but the per bead costs for handling and finishing are multiplied by a larger factor. This is why sets with many small beads can end up being more costly than those with fewer larger beads.
