K-OS Pen (beta)

from 7.00

The K-OS machined pen is the self-proclaimed King of Scribble. This is a beta release of a pen that has been nearly two years in development. Please see notes at bottom for known issues.

The pen design has the same clean, minimalist aesthetics that Aroundsquare has become known for.. a stark contrast to tactile aesthetics of many EDC pens. But don’t let the good looks fool you. These little beauties were designed to provide the writing experience of a full-sized pen in a compact, pocket friendly form factor. The K-OS pen is 1cm in diameter, and measures 10cm from refill tip to end—enough to rest comfortably in most hands, and bumps up to 11.5cm with the cap posted. The pens ship include a Fisher Space Pen pressurized ball-point refill. While there are lots of great refills out there, the FSP’s are pretty much undisputed as the most reliable option available in this category.

Options as follows:

  • Titanium: 31g with refill

  • Brass: 53g with refill

  • Stainless Steel: 52g with refill

  • Aluminum (blue or pink splash): 21g with refill

  • REFILL OPTIONS: medium or fine/ blue or black.
PLEASE SPECIFY PREFERENCE IN ORDER NOTES (or we will choose for you)

CAVEATS (PLEASE READ): These pens are dropping as a beta release for a couple of reasons. First, I have fairly limited quantities and no packaging. Second, there are small issues with the manufacturing.. they aren't quite where I wanted them to be for a full scale launch. Known issues include: (i) you'll be able to feel a small step between the cap and the body of the pen when the cap is screwed on (either closed, posted, or both); (ii) there's slight play where the refill protrudes from the tip.. this won't affect the writing experience (it's not soft feeling) but it is noticeable visually; (iii) the internal boring of the pens varies slightly, which means that after tightening the refills in place with the set screw, some pens will have refills that protrude slightly more or less than others.. this also means that the set screw probably won't be quite flush with the end of the body once it's tightened. I have sorted through every unit personally, and I rejected any pens where the issues were beyond what I would accept for my own personal use. I have five of these pens from the same pile in my own rotation, and have been using them multiple times every day for the past year and a half. -MH
