Knucklebone - Large Wood
The large wooden editions of our popular Knucklebone series provide all the great features of the original wooden knucklebones, in a slightly larger format. While still very pocket friendly, the large sized knucklebones pack a little extra weight, and throw it out a little farther with their extra length, making them a joy to manipulate, even for folks with average sized hands. While the extra length can make some tricks a little less nimble feeling, others (such as sonics and thumb rolls) become easier, as the extra end-weight helps with maintaining momentum during play.
The new production batch of the large sized wooden kbones have turned out flawlessly. They feature a polished finish that gives them a little bit of extra grip, while still retaining the warmth and grain of the natural material. They're available in light coloured, light weight beech wood, and the darker, heftier ebony. Both sport lovely grain patterns and a great feel.
Details:
- Materials: Beech (~10.1g) or Ebony (~15.4g)
- Length: 6.8cm
- Finish: Polished Finish
The larger versions are more suited to momentum tricks like thumb rolls and sonics.
General Information on the Wooden Knucklebones
Aroundsquare's Knucklebones are the original hardbody knuckle roller, make no mistake. This is a simple skill toy that is manipulated with the fingers of one or both hands to perform tricks and patterns, or simply to pass the time. It is very discrete (unless dropped) and can be played in very restricted spaces, and in contexts where other showier skill toys may not be appropriate. The kbone is very appealing, not only for its elegant form and ergonomic design, but also, for the range of play styles that it enables. The rounded lines are perfect for spinning, flipping, and passing it between the fingers. It can be manipulated very casually and quietly like a worry stone, or can be used to perform a surprising array of freestyle flows, technical tricks, isolations, and even aerials.
Aroundsquare's wooden Knucklebones are a lightweight and user-friendly rendition of the toy. While the wooden kbones have the same size and shape as the metal originals, the lighter weight, combined with the wood grain texture, open up new possibilities for manipulation, using the round end knobs to manipulate, pivot, and stall the kbones during play. Players accustomed to the momentum and gravity effect of the heavier metal versions may take some time to adjust to this style of play, but those interested in tricks and technical play will find this version extremely flexible and entertaining.
Please understand that because these are made from a natural material, they will vary in appearance. Some are darker, some are lighter. Some have more pronounced grain patterns, and others have very little. This is particularly the case with the ebony and purple heart wood pieces, which have a wild range of patterns. Some have very distinct colour patters with sharp contrasts, and some are completely uniform in colour.
In addition, because these are turned on a wood lathe, there may be light markings or lathe lines on the wood--these tend to fade over time as the piece is played, but will not disappear completely. Any kbones with chips or splinters that might affect the feel or playability have been sorted out during our quality control process, but most of the kbones will have some visible discolouration or blemishes on close inspection. These are character marks, and if you're using your kbones a lot, they are certainly not going to be the last character marks. If you are uncomfortable with this, or if you want a much more precision-controlled item, we recommend the delrin models as a good alternative to the wood.
The wooden Knucklebones have all the beauty, charm, and the vulnerabilities of wood. When dropped on rough surfaces, or if kept in pockets with sharp items like toothed keys, they may chip or scratch. That said, the wood versions are light enough that when they do drop, the impact is not very hard, and as such, they tend not to do much damage to themselves.

Tyron is an old hat at begleri and knucklebones but absolutely loves this one I got him ♥️
Excellent tool for both fidgeting and varied training for my fingers. I have 5 KB's, these large are a better fit for my hand size. I can roll them both ways with no issue compared to OG length. I bought delrin & wood large and love them both. I prefer delrin large for thumb rolls, but this one for everything else. Whatever rough texture from production is gone within a few hours of natural use. Logo mark is not rough and just feels like wood grain/texture.
